The fastener also had to be in accordance with previous dimensions and weight characteristics, while supporting plug and play functions.

To meet this challenge, FTC redesigned the the fastener, modifying the original design to the required specifications but also improved ease of use for the customer through a carefully crafted design change.  

The resulting product enabled the fastener to remain intact while the aircraft panel could be moved in and out of the aircraft without wobbling.  FTC saved approximately 2 hours of aircraft manufacturing time and 15 minutes of installation time per panel.
